Guide Dogs Uk is our choosen charity for 2011, on Thursday the 24th of March we are holding a fundrasing event in the salon to raise money for the charity!

We were also invited to go and visit the charitys training school for young dogs and puppies last week. It was a truly amazing day and great to meet with other fundraisers, trainers and voulenteers....and of course get a dog cuddle:

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association have been expertly breeding and training guide dogs for more than 75 years, providing many thousands blind and partially-sighted people of all ages and from all walks of life, with the fredom, mobility and access service that comes with a lifelong canine partner!

Guide Dogs was founded in 1931, and is a charity that receives no government funding for the guide dogs service.  The guide dog service is entirely dependent on voluntary donations.

As well as training dogs they also deliver confidence-building rehabilitation services to adults, young people and children.

They also campaign alongside visually-impaired people for rights that most sighted people take for granted.  These include access to services and transport, freedom of mobility, and provision of better rehabilitation services.
